Catherine Ingram has been the Principal of a large dance and theatre school for 30 years. After training in classical ballet, modern theatre, jazz and tap dance, Catherine pursued her passion to train as a teacher with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, gaining Licentiate status, and furthered her training to become an Approved Tutor for the ISTD DDE qualification.
Catherine graduated from Middlesex University with a First Class Masters Degree in Dance Technique Pedagogy. During her teaching career, Catherine has successfully launched many students into the performing industry, including Londons West End, cruise ships, and touring companies. She has produced, directed and choreographed many musical theatre productions, including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Rent, Bare, Smike, Fame, Seussical, and Avenue Q, to name but a few.
Catherine particularly enjoys working with children and young people, encouraging and inspiring them to achieve and maintain high standards in the performing arts. Catherine now divides her time between her role as Principal of her own dance and theatre school in Hampshire, teaching dance, working with youth theatre companies, teaching the DDE qualification and adjudicating.
